TIAPLASMIN-100
COMPOSITION
1 ml of the drug contains active substance:
Tiamulin – 100.0 mg (as Tiamulin hydrogen fumarate).
Additional ingredients: benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol, propylene glycol, water for injection
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
ATC vet code QJ01 – Antibacterials for systemic use. QJ01XX92 – Tiamulin.
Tiamulin is a bacteriostatic semi-synthetic antibiotic of the pleuromutilin class, it acts at the ribosomal level, blocking protein synthesis in the bacterial cell.
Tiamulin acts at the 70S ribosomal level, the primary binding site is on the 50S-sublevel, and the secondary is possible in the junction places of the sublevels of 50S and 30S subunits. Tiamulin inhibits the synthesis of proteins by microbes, producing biochemical inactive initiative complexes to block the growth of the polypeptide chain.
Tiamulin is active against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Listeria spp.) and Gram-negative (Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides spp., Campylobacter spp., Lawsonia intracellularis) bacteria; mycoplasmas (M.hypopneumoniae, M.hyorhinis, M.hyosynoviae, M.synoviae, M.gallisepticum, M.meleagridis); leptospira (Leptospira spp.); spirochaetes (Serpulina hyodysenteriae, S. innocens, S. pilosicoli, S.suis); treponema (T.hyodysenteriae) and chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.).
Tiamulin to a small extent acts against enterobacteria, such as Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli.
Tiamulin is rapidly absorbed into the blood; it is well distributed in the body and is concentrated in the lung tissue after intramuscular injection. After parenteral administration (doses of 10 and 15 mg / kg bw), the highest levels in serum were detected 2 hours after administration.
ADMINISTRATION
Treatment of pigs affected by dysentery, ileitis (proliferative enteropathy), spirochetal enterocolitis, enzootic bronchopneumonia, Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, and mycoplasmal arthritis caused by pathogens susceptible to Tiamulin.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE

OCONTRAINDICATIONS
Individual hypersensitivity to Tiamulin.
Do not use in non-target animals.
Do not use drugs containing monensin, narasin, or salinomycin, at least 7 days before, during, and after treatment with Tiamulin.
Do not administer to animals with impaired liver function.
Do not use in sows in the first 5-6 weeks of gestation.
PRECAUTIONS
High individual sensitivity of the animal to the drug components (incl. in the anamnesis), severe decompensated diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
RELAX should not be used for anesthesia in pregnant females (if the offspring is planned to be kept). The drug can be used for introductory anesthesia during cesarean section in females.
It is necessary to use the drug with caution in depleted animals, in animals with hypovolemia, kidney, liver and lung diseases.
Do not use in productive animals!
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug in accordance with the instructions, side effects and complications have not been established.
In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped, and antihistamines and symptomatic treatment are prescribed.
With a significant overdose in animals, diarrhea, anorexia, and nephrotoxic effects can be observed.
Special warnings
It is recommended to determine the resistance of microorganisms to Tiamulin before using the drug.
Withdrawal period
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed in 10 days after the last treatment. Meat received before this time should be disposed or feed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
