SEMI-SYNTHETIC ANTIBIOTIC OF PENICILLIN GROUP
COMPOSITION
1 ml of the preparation contains the following active substances:
• Amoxicillin (as Amoxicillin Trihydrate) – 140 mg;
• Clavulanic Acid (as Potassium Clavulanate) – 35 mg.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
* Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the Penicillin group. It blocks the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, inhibits enzyme activity of transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, and causes violations of osmotic balance that lead to the death of pathogens at stage of development. Amoxicillin has wide bactericidal action and is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus, spp. (S. Agalactiae, S. Dysgalactiae, S. Uberis), E.coli, Arcanobacteria (incl. A. Pyogenes), Corynebacteria spp., Clostridia spp, Bacillus Anthracis, Actinomyces Bovis, Bacillus Cereus, Bacteroides (incl. strains, producing β-lactamase), Campylobacter spp., Klebsiella spp, Pasteurella spp., Escherichia Coli, Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., Fusobacterium Necrophorum, Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp., Actinobacillus Lignieresіi.
* Clavulanic acid is one of the natural metabolites of Streptomyces Clavuligerus. It resembles Penicillin in a structurally similar nucleus with a β-lactam ring. Clavulanic acid is an inhibitor of the β-lactamase enzyme, the action of which is initially active, and ultimately passes the inactivation. Clavulanic acid penetrates the bacterial cell wall and binds external and intracellular β-lactamase enzymes.
* Amoxicillin in combination with an inhibitor of this enzyme (Clavulanic Acid) broadens the spectrum of antimicrobial activity.
* After parenteral injection, the product is rapidly absorbed and distributed throughout the tissues of the body, reaching high concentrations in muscle tissues, liver, and kidneys.
TARGET ANIMALS
Cattle.
INDICATIONS
Treatment of Cattle with diseases of the Respiratory System (Bronchitis, Bronchopneumonia, Rhinitis), Urogenital System (Metritis, Endometritis, Cystitis, Urethritis, Pyelonephritis), Joints, Skin and Soft Tissues (Umbilical Infections, Wounds, Abscesses, Inflammations) caused by pathogens susceptible to Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
• Intramuscularly 1.0 ml per 20 kg body weight once a day for 3-5 days.
• Before application, the preparation should be shaken thoroughly. Use only dry syringes and needles to draw out the product. Before drawing out, wipe the cap with a tissue moistened with an antiseptic solution. After the injection, do the massage at the injection site.
